WORST ONLINE ORDERING EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE! A week or so ago I ordered a food gift for one of my daughters.
I paid and placed the order, then there is a message saying you will receive a conformation email, and it also gave me my order number. A few hours went by and I did NOT receive any conformation so I called the customer hotline. The person looked up my order # I gave her and told me it was not yet in the system and to wait a little longer and call back. I waited another couple of hours and still no conformation?
I called again and was told the same thing. I went to bed. The following morning still no conformation, I again called and they could NOT find my order? This order was to be delivered on the 2nd day from date ordered and they can't find the order?
I was told to check my credit card to see if I was being charged, and was told most likely the charge did not go through. I checked, it went through so I sent a complaint to Stew Leonard's saying what happened and that I wanted Stew Leonard to read my complaint. That afternoon I received an email from their Senior Customer Service person Linda Badin, saying they found the order and it will be shipped. I emailed her asking will it get there tomorrow as first planned?
She answered back, because of how much time lost finding your order no, instead of a Friday delivery it will be delivered on Monday. I was NOT very happy at all with this mix up, BUT AT LEAST they found my order and the shipping was free. I am SURE Stew Leonard never read my complaint, I would bet money on that! Late last night I thought of sending my other daughter a little something also, BUT I was a little leery of using SL again because of the mix up the last time.
I went onto their website to look around and decided to give them another try, PLUS they have a special deal going with free delivery's when you spend $25. It says FREE standard SHIPPING GIFTS OVER $25. USE FREESHIP25 code at checkout. I found 2 items that I thought my daughter and her family would like, one cost $24.99 and the other $17.99 for a total of $42.98.
I put in the items I liked then entered the code, I put in the rest of the information and saw I was being charged $17.90 for ground shipping? I cleared everything and tried again and got the same result? I gave up and went to bed, this morning I had 2 emails from SL asking if I forgot something in the basket and if I needed help to call. I called at 8:15am waited 10 minutes to talk to someone and was told to call back after 8:30 so that someone could take the order over the phone.
I tried a couple of more times to order online but the message kept saying FREESHIP25 not valid? I called again about 8:50am and waited and waited to speak to someone then a message said to leave my phone # and I will get a callback and I wont loose my place in line. I left my #, over an hour past before I got the callback from someone in CA. I told the woman my problem with being charged shipping and she tried the same items and got the SAME RESULT, she said she thinks it's because the items are under $25.
each? I said the total was almost $43. and it goes to the same place and says NOTHING about each item being over $25.? I told her I was going to complain to SL she said, SHE DOES NOT BLAME ME!
I sent THIS COMPLAINT to Linda the same person I dealt with last week. I told her my problem and she sent an email back saying it's because the free shipping is on items that cost $25.and OVER, NOT ON TOTAL MERCHANDISE, I email back, asking where does it say that? Mind you, one of the items cost $24.99 ONE PENNY SHORT plus another item for $17.99. we went back and forth a few times and she offered to make an EXCEPTION and give me the free shipping, by this time I really had it and told her no, I will not buy anything online again from SL!
I told her her FREE SHIPPING ad is online is MISLEADING it should say: FREE standard SHIPPING on INDIVIDUAL items $25. and OVER, SHE SAID SHE WOULD PASS IT ALONG, she offered again to make an EXCEPTION to give me free shipping. I think because I told her, this was the SECOND TIME I ordered something and had problems with SL online, AND I was going to POST ONLINE my problems at complaint websites such as YELP, PISSED CONSUMER, COMPLAINTSBOARD.COM etc, so other people will know to stay away UNLESS they like to WASTE time and have AGGRAVATION trying to place an order! I also told her I hope THIS TIME Stew Leonard READS my complaint and if she wont show him, then he can read it here!
There are to many OTHER places online to spend my money and have a GOOD EXPERIENCE! Good luck to all and happy shopping!
